A poem about, in my opinion, taking pleasure in simple things.

A wee bit of pyschological horror......

This is a story that involves two characters that I've written for a while - Jess Phoenix and Kaeden Praetor. It should be noted that for part of the story, Jess is physically able to leave his own body (leaving a husk on a "real" level and sort of like the spirit leaving the body - not unlike Christine Feehan's Carpathians - but Jess is not like them) and his spirit, if you will, goes into Kaeden's in order to soothe the man enough so that he could sleep without nightmares. This is a combo of horror and fantasy - the mythos surrounding Jess Phoenix is my own and is a blend of bits and pieces I've picked up over the years.

This was originally written a couple years ago and how I saw Jess's "ending" and was meant to be used down the line. Well, couple years on, I'm still writing him at a couple boards, and he's still around. This will eventually be re-written when his end does come, and, due to circumstances, his significant other will be someone else.

This story is and isn't fan fiction - it is very loosely based on White Wolf's "Vampire: the Masquerade", but the "loosely based" is only for clan structure - names have changed and there is only one sect (rather than two) and I have also taken elements from other writers, thrown them, and mixed the whole lot up to make it my own.
